Common Name: Aciotis Acuminifolia

Aciotis Acuminifolia is an exotic and rare aquarium plant that can also be grown in emersed conditions. Its deep red leaf undersides provide excellent contrast when paired with other aquarium plants. Aciotis Acuminifolia grows in an upright position with lateral shoots, offering good structure and layering potential. When grown in aquarium conditions, it produces softer leaves that curl slightly at the edges with vivid red tones that intensify when provided with strong LED lighting and CO2 injection. Its emersed form displays a serrated leaf, softer colors and occasional pale pink flowers if optimal conditions are provided.

This aquarium plant is considered an advanced species and requires specific care to grow healthily. Acidic water in the 5.5 - 7.0pH range is preferred along with stable temperatures. Swings in parameters will contribute to melt and death of the plant. Root tabs or a quality aquarium plant fertilizer should be dosed along with CO2 injection as well. If successful, this aquarium plant adds a beautiful touch to any planted setup.

Tissue culture plants are grown in vitro from a state of the art laboratory specialized in propagating aquatic plants. They provide the best option for those who want to ensure that absolutely zero unwanted pests are introduced into the aquarium. Remove tissue culture gel before planting. Simply wash the gel away or soak the plant in water and squeeze the gel off with your fingers.

Notes:

  • Final size, coloration and growth rate are dependent upon the condition of the aquarium Photos are a representation of what you will receive and may vary.
  • Do not make drastic changes to the aquarium. Unstable parameters will result in melt and rotting of the aquarium plant.
  • Please research appropriately to ensure your plant thrives.
