Common Name: Alocasia Gageana Albo
Alocasia Gageana Albo is a rare house plant that offers varying tones of green, cream and white to a plant enthusiast's collection. Known simply as the Elephant Ear plant, Alocasia Gageana Albo is well-known for its marbled foliage that has the potential to grow quite large when well cared for. Like other variegated specimen, Alocasia Gageana Albo should be provided with more lighting to ensure the plant has the means to photosynthesize as the areas void of chlorophyll aren't capable. Alocasia are mildly toxic and should be handled with care around pets and children.
Like other tropical species, Alocasia prefers increased humidity levels, well-draining medium that retains moisture and warmer temperatures. It's important to note that Alocasia cannot be propagated through cuttings and will need to be separated via bulb at the root of the plant. Humidity can be increased through the use of a humidifier, pebble tray or also by placing the plant in an enclosed container that is opened periodically for fresh air flow.
